G-Wizard Calculator handles more different kinds of tooling than any other Speeds and Feeds Calculator. Import and Export tables from CSV files, use Manufacturer's Recommended Data, define tool geometry, and use dozens of tool types for Mills, Routers (special router cutters handled) and Lathes.
Feb 13, 2007 · Must be the particular combination of my plasma power supply and my cutting machine- an older C&G optical trace unit. Since my machine is optical trace, I have a further limitation in high speed, as if it goes too fast, it will jump off the line in tight corners. So maybe I could be running it faster if it was full CNC.

Oct 29, 2014 · This gets even tougher when considering the wide variety of plasma cutters designed to be the cutting tool that rides on the CNC machine. they range from a small 40 amp air plasma system, barely the size of a two-slice toaster but boasting the power to cut through ½ in thick steel, up to an 800 amp system that can slice through 6-1/4 in stainless with ease.
Most high end industrial machine builders work hard to match their drives to their machine weights in order to ensure that acceleration and speeds are within the required ranges of the plasma cutting processes being used. Plasma is a very speed and height (distance between plate surface and the frontmost part of the torch) dependent process.
CNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing process that uses rotating computer-controlled cutting tools like drills, end mills, and turning tools to remove material from a solid block of material, thereby shaping the part. Digital design files direct the CNC machines how to cut the block (also known as the “workpiece”) and multiple ...
